Senior Administrator | Higher Education Management Expert | Strategic Management Scholar | Consultant
Dr. Salisu Bashir is a seasoned administrator, management scholar, and university lecturer with over 20 years of professional experience spanning public administration, banking, higher education, research, and institutional leadership. He currently serves as a Deputy Director at the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Abuja, where he provides leadership in quality assurance, accreditation, standards development, educational policy implementation, curriculum enhancement, and institutional capacity building.
Before joining the NCCE, Dr. Bashir had a successful banking career, rising to Head of Credit and Marketing at Afribank/Mainstreet Bank. His experience in banking strengthened his expertise in strategic management, credit administration, business development, customer relationship management, and risk management.
Dr. Bashir holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in addition to an MBA, M.Sc. in Business Administration, Master in Development Studies, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Technology, reflecting his commitment to educational innovation and digital transformation.
An accomplished academic with over eight years of university teaching experience, Dr. Bashir lectures at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and Baze University, Abuja, teaching Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Corporate Policy and Strategy, Management Information Systems, Business Statistics, Managerial Finance, and Organizational Behaviour. His scholarly contributions include 21 peer-reviewed journal articles, five books/book chapters, five conference papers, and several conference proceedings.
He has successfully led numerous accreditation and institutional assessment exercises, coordinated strategic projects, and represented the Federal Government on the Governing Councils of Colleges of Education, providing governance oversight and policy guidance.
